Who and What is Liable When a Claim Results from Transport? For damage, destruction and loss of load the following are liable:
- Domestic carrier for the sum of the goods transported in accordance with Commercial Code.
- International carrier up to the sum of 8.33 SDR per 1 kg gross weigh in accordance with the Convention on the contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road.
Attention. The domestic as well as international carrier, are liable for all damage [catastrophes, damage resulting from inappropriate packaging and loading or unloading the goods etc].
Do Not Forget. One kind of insurance is not enough to insure against transport risks.
